About Me

May A. Thomas, MD, FACP, AGSF, CMD

I graduated from Swarthmore College in PA with a BA in Biology. I obtained my MD from Temple University School of Medicine in PA. My Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine was completed at the Graduate Hospital, affiliate of the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, PA. I then practiced a combination of Academic and Clinical Internal Medicine and Geriatrics for over 30 years. Throughout my academic career I was involved in Geriatric Curriculum Development and teaching.

I have taught, lectured and presented locally and nationally.

I am board Certified in Internal Medicine and have had Board Added Qualifications in Geriatrics. My association Memberships include being a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), an American Geriatric Society Fellow (AGSF) and a Certified Medical Director (CMD) with the American Medical Directors Association.

After retiring from the practice of Clinical Medicine, I was educated through the Duke Integrative Medicine Coach Training and Certification Programs. I founded May A. Thomas, MD Partnered Health, LLC also know as Thomas Partnered Health (TPH).

Born and raised in the Bronx, NYC, I currently live in South Jersey.

Family is very important to me. I am the Mother of two adult children. I am fortunate to have my parents nearby and am aiding in their care giving needs.

Some of my personal interests and things I do for fun include all things art like visiting Art museums, especially the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and painting. I also enjoy traveling, the beach, reading, watching movies, and exercising.

Why I chose to become an Integrative Whole Health and Geriatric Care Educator

America is in a Care crisis, we as a nation are dealing with increasing rates of obesity and people are now commonly dealing with 3 or more chronic illnesses. Life style choices are contributing to these disturbing and unhealthy trends. We as a nation need to see a change in these trends and a movement back to best health.

From a professional stand point, after retiring from over 30 years of clinical medicine, I wanted and needed to still contribute to Health Care in our nation. Shifting my work from the traditional clinical disease diagnosis and treatment paradigm to a perspective of Whole Health and Wellness, I chose Integrative Whole Health Education.

Carrying forward my Geriatric knowledge, Geriatric Care education fits a growing need for care givers, baby boomers and their elders.
