On Monday June 11th I presented for the third time at the Annual Education Training Service Seminar (ETSS) held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This year I gave a five hour presentation on “Ethics of Person Centered Care:A Multi-Departmental Approach”. This talk included the topics of : ethical principles, regulations, environment, food and dining, activities , staffing and CNA’s, religion, multicultural needs, elder sexuality and LGBTQ, and how to implement person centered care. The conference had three other excellent speakers that covered interesting and current educational topics over the next three days. The national conference had over 100 attendees who represented Long Term Care Administrators, Assisted Living Administrators, Directors of Nursing and Registered Nurses from many states. The conference as usual was well received. I was asked back to speak at the 2019 24th Annual Conference to be held on June 10-13th in Myrtle Beach. My presentation for next year is “Updates on Ethical Medical Care of Assisted Living, Nursing Home, and Rehab Residents- Including the Topics of: Elder Abuse, Opioid Addiction, Medical Marijuana, Driving, HIV and Others”.
This is an excellent conference that is held over four days in one setting and comprehensively provides the annual credits needed for administrators to maintain their licenses. It is at the beautiful Myrtle Beach ocean location that allows time for family, vacation, and relaxation. For more information go to:
