Today April 11th is the FREE kick off event for the Burlington County Conversation Of Your Life Program (COYL). The Burlington County COYL task force is part of the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institutes Mayors Wellness Campaign. COYL is active in the counties of Bergen, Gloucester, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Somerset and now Burlington . Today’s event starts at 7PM at 49 Rancocas Rd in Mt Holly NJ in the 1st floor Board room. It is a Freeholder signing event open to the public. There will be a discussion on Advanced Directives and Advanced Care Planning and then Freeholder Linda Hughes will sign her own Advanced Directive as an example.
In the month of April there will be a number of FREE BURLCO COYL events held at the Burlington County Library at 5 Pioneer Boulevard Westhampton, NJ 08060. On April 19th at 5PM and the 21st at 9AM there will be a film Screening of Being Mortal. I will be opening with a discussion on Advanced Directives on April 26th at 7PM and April 30th at 5 PM, followed by a group book discussion on Being Mortal written by Atul Gawande. April is National Heath Care Decisions month. As a reminder, April 19th from 1-3PM, TREC and the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute COYL are cosponsoring the NHDD (National Healthcare Decisions Day) event at the Willingboro Township Senior Citizen Center at 429 John F. Kennedy Center in Willingboro, NJ 08046 in Burlington County. It is a FREE event open to the public. For more information on this event please go to my March 14th blog.
